Services For Publishers
Luke Finley Editorial provides professional editorial support to clients within and beyond the publishing industry.
I have undertaken proofreading, copy-editing and substantive language/content editing for a range of clients and types of publication, including over 1,000 hours of work for publishers large (Cambridge University Press, Ashgate) and small (Indigo Dreams).
I have a wide range of editorial experience, I’m an Advanced Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) and I’ve completed training with SfEP and the Publishing Training Centre. I can work in whatever format you require: on-screen or on paper, using the BSi marks or other forms of mark-up.
My business is founded on the combination of these skills with non-editorial knowledge and experience. I have subject knowledge in social sciences, public policy and politics (from 15 years’ work in the public and voluntary sectors prior to setting up Luke Finley Editorial) and in arts and humanities (from my First Class degree in Combined Arts, focusing mainly on literature and English language).
In 1999–2001, I worked for two small publishers in County Durham, so I have some experience of the publishing process and of editing in-house.
